After reading today that Toopi has been named in the Bay Of Plenty rugby squad for the upcoming Air New Zealand Cup I guess for now the question is answered. ...

If Matthew Johns is looking for one positive out of this week he can probably thank his lucky stars this isn't the late 17th century.

If it was he'd be burning at the stake right now, because in my opinion Johns is at the heart of an elaborate witch hunt.

Put your hands up if you are sick to death of all the scandals involving rugby league.

I bet most of you have your hands up right now and quite rightly so.

I am absolutely disgraced by what has emerged in the last day regarding the Cronulla Sharks and a Christchurch woman back in 2002.

And it seems since 2002 there has been a constant flow of complaints involving high profile league players and teams. ...

When I got the news last night direct from the NRL that Issac Luke had been suspended for a week for a grade one striking charge I wasn't too surprised.

In fact if I'm honest I always knew there was no way he would get off the charge.

The Kiwis and Rabbitohs star could have had the Pope come in and testify for him and he wouldn't have got off. ...

How would you feel if all sportspeople were allowed to use whatever drugs – performance enhancing or otherwise – they wanted?

Would you consider the dropping of restrictions and penalties for using drugs a way of leveling the playing field for all athletes?

And if everyone was allowed to use them would the dark light shed on performance enhancing drugs be removed?

At the moment, in my opinion anyway, there exists an element within sport ...

If you were a spiritual man, or woman or child for that matter, you'd have to think the football gods are on the Kiwis' side at the moment.

With the Anzac Test just around the corner I don't think I'm alone in believing this could be the chance to finally knock the Aussies off their spot at the head of the rugby league world. ...

He requested a release after a sit down with coach Daniel Anderson that obviously didn't play out the way he wanted.

According to reports Finch wanted a guarantee that he'd be playing first grade.
