Pick the score: Crusaders v Hurricanes

In terms of difficulty, asking you to pick the score in last weekend's final test against Ireland wasn't far off asking you to name a day this upcoming July when there won't be any rain in Auckland.

After their staunch display in Christchurch where the Irish ran the All Blacks so close, who would have predicted the 60-nil massacre that the men in black dealt out in Auckland?

The answer is nobody in their right mind.

Because in reality, nobody came close to correctly predicting the outcome in the Pick the Score competition that I posted on Yahoo last Saturday.

So that's why I want to give you another opportunity to win a Lone Star voucher in what I believe should prove to be an easier challenge by making an accurate prediction in today's Super 15 clash in Christchurch where the Crusaders will meet the Hurricanes.

Most of the games for this week 19 of Super 15, 2012 have been affected by that bizarre break in the tournament where just when the finishing line was in sight, one of the craziest decisions ever in the history of sports administration kicked in.

The tournament effectively has now become "Crouch, Touch, Pause, WAIT FOR A MONTH, Engage.
Inevitably, the resumption will see some All Blacks with genuine injuries unavailable or being rested due to the slightest hint of an ailment as per Steve Hansen's wishes.

When Dan Carter, Kieran Read and Israel Dagg are missing from a team, you would assume its winning chances have been dealt a serious blow.

But given that the Crusaders have become used to Carter only starting at around 50 per cent of the time and the depth of talent that this champion franchise can always draw upon, they will be as formidable as ever.

In fact, injuries have presented significant omissions for the Hurricanes as well, with Cory Jane, Victor Vito and new whiz kid on the block, T.J.Perenara all not available.
